Enter the Sanctuary and stay awhile, Tenno. The next major update, Beasts of the Sanctuary, features our 35th Warframe Khora, a new game mode called Sanctuary Onslaught, and more!
With a bold aesthetic characterized by glossy metallics hinting at her fierceness in combat, Khora sets the stage for her long-awaited arrival with flair. She is an example of how Warframe often develops on an ebb and flow of ideas. The Impact, Puncture, and Slash damage types were originally meant to be her wheelhouse — changing the damage output on command the name of her game.
Behemoths arise, PlayStation Tenno! Starting Tuesday, March 6, you will have the opportunity to summon two new Eidolons in Warframe.
With our new update, Shrine of the Eidolon, the Hydrolyst and Gantulyst will dominate the Plains of Eidolon and ferociously loom over those who challenge them.
The Eidolons are the biggest creatures you’ll encounter in the Plains. They rise at night in search of their lost limbs scattered across the Plains from the Old War. Peaceful until provoked, they are armed with a barrage of specialized attacks. Tenno are advised to equip themselves with hard-hitting weapons that can strip down their formidable defenses.
When PlayStation 4 launched on November 15, 2013 in the US and Canada, Warframe was the first downloadable free-to-play game available. If you thought space ninjas were cool then and you downloaded our game, you either know how much has changed since that launch, or are wondering why you’re still reading about Warframe four years later. Why, after nearly four years, is now a prime time to pick up Warframe? It’s simple: Plains of Eidolon is our biggest, most ambitious update ever. And we think you will love it. It’s also free…
So, just what is Plains of Eidolon? Let’s do a little rewind first. At launch, Warframe was a small Beta game with just a few procedurally generated maps and a few Warframes. In the early days of Warframe, the developers would often describe it as the hyper sci-fi version of other established cooperative survival shooters. It was simple and modest, especially when compared to what it is now, but even so many were drawn to download it. In fact, after Netflix, it was the second most downloaded app on PS4. But it left a lot to be desired – both in content and direction.
