This year’s E3 was very special for all of us at PlayStation, with all the buzz and anticipation surrounding PS4. For me personally, I get the added privilege of working with some of the most brilliantly talented developers in the industry, who are all focused to show off their latest creations at E3. We were overwhelmed by the tremendous support we received from the gaming industry during a fantastic E3 week.
We are incredibly excited about PlayStation 4, and we can’t wait to share more features and details with you as we get closer to launch.
As 2012 prepares to come to a close, many of us have taken a step back to reflect on the amazing game experiences we’ve enjoyed throughout 2012. One game in particular stands out above the rest: Journey. Since it was announced in June two years ago, critics and fans alike have been praising Journey’s heartfelt narrative, incredibly memorable visuals and emotional score. Once it launched back in March, it quickly garnered the attention and admiration of many, ultimately resulting in three big wins at the recent 10th Annual Spike TV Video Game Awards, including Best PS3 Game, Best Independent Game and Best Original Score.
It truly is an exciting time to be part of the PlayStation family. This morning, PlayStation was recognized by the gaming industry elite, winning an industry-leading seven Game Critics: Best of E3 awards including BEST IN SHOW for The Last of Us, and receiving more awards than any other platform or publisher.
Receiving critical acclaim throughout the industry, The Last of Us, the new PS3 survival action game from the talented team at Naughty Dog, took home a whopping five Game Critics Awards.
Earlier today we announced Sucker Punch Productions has officially joined Sony Computer Entertainment Worldwide Studios. We’re thrilled to share the news and welcome Sucker Punch to the PlayStation family.

E3 may have wrapped up a few weeks back, but the excitement here at PlayStation is growing by the day. Not only are we coming off of one of the most successful E3s we’ve had in recent memory, but we are preparing for the launch of some of this year’s most-anticipated software titles as well as a couple of very exciting new pieces of hardware.
This year we showcased one of the strongest software lineups in our history, including many creative and show stopping titles for the upcoming PlayStation Vita, family friendly options for PlayStation Move and an amazing lineup of AAA titles and franchise favorites for PS3. The positive response we received from our community was overwhelming, and the confirmation from E3 judges was very gratifying. In fact, PlayStation hardware and software was nominated for more than 140 awards at E3 this year. Here’s a look at just a few of the accolades we received:
It’s been a busy 2011 already for us here at Sony Computer Entertainment! We’ve seen the launch of LittleBigPlanet 2, MLB 11 The Show, Killzone 3, PlayStation Move Heroes, and many more—and we’re just getting started.
