One week from now Elite Dangerous will change. Elite Dangerous: Beyond — Chapter One is the first of four free updates launching in 2018 focused on community-requested core changes to the overall experience of the game, together with fresh content for Commanders to experience as you explore the Milky Way.
Last year PS4 players launched into Elite Dangerous’ massively multiplayer full-scale simulation of the Milky Way. Starting with a small spacecraft and a handful of credits, we want you to make your own way in the galaxy however you choose. Trade, fight, mine, explore, hunt, or just survive — the choice is yours.
This week we caught up with developer David Braben as he and the team at Frontier Developments put the finishing touches on the PS4 release of adventure space sim Elite: Dangerous, set to launch on June 27.
While we had David’s attention though, we thought we’d ask him a little about his ‘life in games’ for our ongoing article series. As always, we sat him down and asked him to cast his mind back to:

In Elite Dangerous, every star in our night sky — the whole Milky Way — is there for you to visit. Fight, bounty-hunt, trade, assassinate, mine, and explore your way across human space and out into the immense galaxy beyond, flying with your friends or travelling alone.
