The season for big games has arrived and August’s Episode 39 set sights on mankind’s last stand, a prequel sequel in the future, and a tropical island…filled with (surprise!) zombies.
The lead feature is Insomniac’s Resistance 3. The Chimera have really made a mess of planet Earth, but with a co-op partner, and the return of the weapon wheel loaded with some pretty cool editions, there just might be some hope left for mankind. Veronica Belmont travels back to an alternative mid-century USA to meet up with one Joseph Caplelli to preview his daunting adventure.

To start things off, Veronica Belmont explores the sand dunes of thatgamecompany’s latest game Journey. With shifting sands, different environments and a new take on co-op play, take a look at how different this PlayStation exclusive really is.
Veronica also takes us behind the scenes of Insomniac Games to profile industry legend, Ted Price. Ted talks about how they got their start, how to get started in the industry and how his company is putting the final touches on Ratchet and Clank: All 4 One and Resistance 3.
It’s crazy to think we are less than two months away from the release of Resistance 3! As we finish up Resistance 3 here at Insomniac, we wanted to let you know that the Resistance Dual Pack is now available at all of your favorite game retailers. For the low, low price of $39.99, you get the first two critically acclaimed games in the Resistance series: Resistance: Fall of Man, and Resistance 2. On top of that, we’ve packed the box with a bunch of extra DLC, including the Aftermath Multiplayer maps and skins for Resistance 2, as well as the rare exclusive weapon skin for the Wraith.
Even better, folks who catch up now with the Dual Pack will be able to show off their recent journey through the first two games with an exclusive Joseph Capelli in SRPA gear skin for Resistance 3 multiplayer.
We are working hard here at Insomniac HQ, putting the finishing touches on Resistance 3 in time for our September 6th release date. We were happy with all of our fantastic comments on the first video in our Dev Diary series in co-operation with the PlayStation Blog, which focused on environments and storyline. Many of you immediately asked “when is the next one coming?” I’m happy to answer that the latest video is now available! It focuses on Resistance 3’s vicious new Chimeran enemies and the significant artificial intelligence improvements we’re making, including enhanced group tactics.
We hope to continue to bring these to you every couple of weeks as we head up to Resistance 3’s September 6th launch. If you haven’t already, head to your favorite game retailer and pre-order your copy of Resistance 3 — you won’t want to miss out on these unique bonus items.
Earlier this year, the PlayStation.Blog team approached us about creating its first-ever developer diary series, focusing on various elements of Resistance 3. After discussing it with them and the Resistance team at Sony, we were all really excited to collaborate on this project. The dev diaries will cover a range of topics across the game, and will roll out as we get closer to Resistance 3’s launch date.
They are also special, as they were the first videos to be shot in the Resistance 3 war-room that some of you may have heard us talk about in various interviews. While we’ve taken special care to ensure that the backgrounds aren’t legible, you can get an idea of the main room at Insomniac that lays out the entire R3 single-player campaign experience.
