At Naughty Dog, we strive to make you, the player, feel as though you inhabit the stories, characters, and worlds we create. If we’re doing our job right, every aspect should feel believable and grounded in our fiction and we should elicit the same response in you as the characters are experiencing in the game.
The key to it all is in details. Whether it’s animation, lighting, performance capture, dialog, or environment design, we spend a lot of time on even the smallest details that, when they all work together, help establish that emotional connection and sense of immersion.

Happy holidays, everyone! 2014 was a big year for us. We turned thirty years old, launched The Last of Us Remastered to widespread acclaim, opened a shop, had a couple art shows, and revealed gameplay from our next project, just to name some highlights.
Though Naughty Dog is celebrating its 30th anniversary, we’re also excited to have been along on PlayStation’s twenty year ride that they’re celebrating this year. In fact it was developing for PSone that had Naughty Dog hire its first employees — for the first ten years it was just our co-founders Jason and Andy doing all of the art, programming, and design themselves. Oh, how times have changed!
Happy Friday! We’re pushing a patch today that addresses many of the matchmaking issues taking place in Factions mode for The Last of Us Remastered. You should see improved matchmaking all around. It will be rolling out over the next twenty-four hours globally. Look for the update when you turn on your system today.
We want to give a little back to recognize and celebrate all these awesome images we’ve been seeing… Starting TODAY at 12:00 PM PST, we are running a Photo Mode Contest for The Last of Us Remastered!
