You may have already seen the top downloads list for the year of 2017, but we are now back to our regularly scheduled monthly charts. Welcome! Here are the lists for the month of December 2017, featuring a respectably strong debut from Boneloaf’s extra-floppy platform brawler Gang Beasts.
These charts are sorted by number of downloads from PlayStation Store, rather than total revenue, and free-to-play games are not included (though we’re looking to add a separate chart for those in future installments of this post).
Welcome to 2018! The future!
We all know 2017 was an incredible year for games, but now we can see exactly which ones players picked up. Read on to see PlayStation Store’s most-downloaded PS4 and PS VR games for the year of 2017. You’ll notice we’ve added a category for top PS4 Themes, as well.
Welcome back! October on PlayStation Store saw FIFA 18 take the top spot for PS4, followed by South Park: The Fractured But Whole (heh) and Middle-earth: Shadow of War.
We’ve got some massive releases coming up — any guesses for this month’s charts?
Welcome back! We’ve got some fresh, pipin’ hot charts for ya — the US PlayStation Store top downloads for September 2017, specifically.
Looks like Destiny 2 was a popular choice for PS4 players in September, with a triple-attack of new sports titles (NBA 2K18, FIFA 18, Madden NFL 18) just behind it. The surprise announcement and immediate availability of Final Fantasy IX on PS4 helped it round out the top 5.
CCP’s Sparc made a strong debut at #2 on the PS VR charts, but it wasn’t quite enough to dethrone the super-cool Superhot VR. Finally, Undertale fans are determined to keep Toby Fox’s quirky RPG masterpiece at the top of the PS Vita chart, and they did so handily.
Welcome back! August was a heck of a month for game launches — let’s see who came out on top (besides people who like to play good games, of course).
Madden NFL 18 was the most downloaded game on PS4, followed by Hellblade and Sonic Mania. Undertale (a recent favorite of mine) led the PS Vita list, and Superhot VR topped the PlayStation VR chart.
Miss any of the games on this list? Head over to PlayStation Store to pick ’em up! At least one of them will fill you with determination!
Woah! Crash Bandicoot’s long-awaited N. Sane Trilogy spun to the top of the PS4 download charts last month, followed closely by Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor (there’s still time to catch up before Shadow of War!). The insanely stylish (and just awesome overall) Superhot VR took the top spot for PlayStation VR, which makes sense since the game can, ya know, control the flow of time and everything. Seems like an unfair advantage, to be honest.
June was not a great month to be a camp counselor… Friday the 13th: The Game racked up more downloads on PS4 than anything else for the month, followed by the celebrated return of Crash Bandicoot in the N. Sane Trilogy.
Diablo III: Rise of the Necromancer and Final Fantasy XIV: Stormblood made strong debuts on the PS4 Add-ons chart (but not quite strong enough to take down Call of Duty Zombies Chronicles), and Arizona Sunshine rocketed straight to the top of the PlayStation VR list.
Welcome back! This month, NetherRealm’s acclaimed superhero brawler Injustice 2 leads the charge on the PS4 top downloads list, with a bloodthirsty Jason Voorhees lurking behind it in Friday the 13th: The Game. Farpoint launched at number 1 on the PlayStation VR chart, but Star Trek Bridge Crew made an impressive debut considering its late-in-the-month […]
