The answer is: not much!

  • wow, does that barack obama have kung fu grip?

  • @50
I agree man i would love to play patapon on crystal clear 1080p and listening to the beautiful songs on a massive 5.1..;)

  • does this mean the Europe/Pasific release will get a price drop on the psn?
I can get the game at staff discount, but would prefer to purchase digitally.. cept it’s more expensive compared to my in-store purchasability..
NZ PSN: NZD 60, NA PSN: NZD 36?!?!

Please reduce the cost on the NZ psn store.. especially in light of this ~40% difference..

    • I\’m sorry…

We just cannot help you with inquiries regarding pricing or strategy for territories outside of North America…

  • err..

I have noticed a lot of you have shown an interest in our PSN roll out.

There are no immediate plans to make LocoRoco 2 available for download. We’re really excited to bring this game to PSP fans on UMD. As for the future, who knows? We’ll just have to see…

I wish I had something more concrete to say on this point, but this is the best I can do at the moment… Sorry everyone!

  • Yeah! I was going to get this regardless but the $20 price point just means it’ll be sooner than later :D

  • But it IS available online.. the NZ PSN store has it.. i could screenshot for you if you like, but it is there, and it is $59.90 (NZ)
It was available the day of release (nov/dec)
/the NA/US release may not happen straight away on psn.. so NA/US peoples, i wish you’s luck in getting this as a download!

also, thanks for leaving many comments, nice to hear the blogger’s/dev’s voice outside of the posts :)

  • All good, i understand you can’t comment on PAL release and appreciate your time :)
i’ll try and find out from somewhere in my territory..
Loving locoroco, and i’ll be sure to pick up locoroco2 in the future some time. ty to you and the rest of the de team for your work in this game!!

  • Will this come out for the ps3???

  • @(reply to)25 I have a 5 year old and a 3 year old who can’t get enough of Locoroco. They’ve also both played the new demo for LR2 and won’t stop pestering me about it.

I didn’t see my PSP for about a month once I showed my (then 4) year old how to play locoroco. I never got around to finishing the original under my save game (got to around halfway through world 4), but I got to watch the rest of the game through her.
What makes the game truly exceptional is how accessible it is both for adults (who can try to perfect the levels, get all the mui muis, etc) and kids (like my 3 year old who just tries to survive the levels). I hope the sequel can keep up that dual-accessibility- it looks a little harder from the previews.

    • Hi There! This is Chuck tagging in for Tsubasa. Just want to assure you that LocoRoco 2 will be accessible to young gamers like your kids, yet will offer a lot of great challenges for more experienced gamers like yourself. It\’s a recipe that worked in the first LR and is one that we are sticking with. You\’ll find there are tons of collectibles to hunt for and the levels in LR2 are just so amazing to navigate and roll through.

  • Great way to sell a game nowadays!

  • I already have LocoRoco2 and it’s just outstanding!!! Better then the first one :D I can’t wait for LR3 xD

  • what about the EU? the EU loves loco roco

  • @ 13
And Gundam Battle Assult 2!!! This and Street Fighter are my favorite fighting games!

  • why do i always think its a good idea to use the sixaxis, to move the screen in the locoroco games? as in tilt the controller right and you move right.
it can be a good idea, like what Resistance is doing with the Connectivety of Resistance Retribution on PS3 and using the controller on t.v.

  • Thought this was better than the original. Some nice new gameplay features. A lot more fun.

    People should definitely buy this.

More Avatars on PSN please Sony!

  • Nice. $20 bucks is fine with my froogle @$$ :)

  • If this hits PSN,I’ll be buying it. I’m trying to buy all of my stuff as downloadable now.Well as much as possible.

  • Could someone at SCEA please explain why you intentionally made bad decision after bad decision after bad decision?

First you decide to release the game after christmas when the rest of the world gets it before.

Second you decide to make the demo available through preorder only when its already available available on PSN in other regions(DRM in PSP demos is also a rediculious decision BTW)

Now You’ve decided that the downloadable version of Locoroco 2 will come several months after the UMD release(“There are no immediate plans to make LocoRoco 2 available for download” clearly means its coming and later).

Could you please stop making these rediculious decisions? Whoever at SCEA decided all three of these decisions are in SCEA’s best intrests and will maximize potential sales of Locoroco 2 needs to give their head a shake.

  • I agree about the demos as pre-order perks seems wrong. If a company is confident in their game then they should release the demo to everyone so that they get more sales.

The kind of perks that pre-ordering should get is in-game perks like weapons(not applicable here), skins, etc. This gives the pre-order people something to show off to other users. Since they are a one time thing this would also increase the amount of pre-orders because people will know that is the only way to get the perks. Demos will eventually be released to everyone so that is not enough for me to be swayed to pre-order something.

  • Thanks for releasing at $20, I can buy two copies for my 8 and 11 year old boys.

    Long may Playstation thrive!

  • demo of locoroco 2? and how much will loco roco 1 cost now that loco roco 2 is coming out at 19.99 i see a price reduction am i right?

  • I have to ask, is there a pause button? Patapon is one exceptional game, but as you can’t pause mid game it is also one of the least accessible games on the PSP for me since I tend to have to put things down a lot.

Thanks, look forward to the release.

  • As long as Patapon is still $20 Sony has a sale from me.

  • Ok here are the pictures of the LocoRoco my wife made.

If the above link didn’t embed, which I doubt it will, but I am trying it anyway. Here is the direct link.

    Enjoy!

    • These are awesome! I personally sent these links to the team in Japan. Thanks so much for sharing and thanks to your wife for her LocoRoco-making skills. Be on the look out for more LR goodness to be anounced on the blog.

  • I might buy this game, “might”

the reason I say might is because my psp hasnt been used at all, ive been gaming on my ps3 nearly 90% of the time. Even though the psp has gotten some nice titles, I havent bought ANY of them.

For psp if I where to buy games for it again, I would buy FF VII: crisis core, and God of war: Chains of Olympus, then I would buy both patapon and locoroco 2.

Maye i will get back to gaming on my PSP..

  • i really dont understand not using the psn. i would much rather d.l. than umd. i thought sony said it was going to do that to all future titles? please, please, please…

    x’s & o’s

  • Hm. $20 for two movie tickets? Perhaps you want to change that because I assumed I could get it for $15. Since that’s how much 2 movie tickets cost in this cheap, low income part of the nation. :P

Still, $20, always great to see solid new PSP games at a more reasonable rate. I love the $20-30 ticket for PSP games & I love being able to snag games like Loco for only $20…

  • The PSP LocoRoco games need released on the Playstation Store for the PS3!

    Same with the Patapon games!

  • Ok so I can understand giving a fake insentive for the game by letting players taste it before picking it up. I liked what Paptapon did by letting you play the first level and continuing from there when you got the game. Does LocoRoco 2 do this?

I am also one of the Qore subscribers, why am I not getting this demo through Qore? or the Killzone demo for that matter? Come on guys I know you are trying hard so thanks in advance if you answer my questions.

  • I will starve a few days to buy this game!

  • All you guys looking for the demo… it’s only the North Americans that got screwed this way… Hint- Check some other region stores…

  • When are we going to be able to play psp games on our ps3. Surely the ps3 is capable of running a psp emulator. Psp games bought on psn should be be playable on the ps3. And UMDs would be playable connecting ps3 and psp via usb.

    • Good question. While I don\’t know if something like that is in the works, I do know that if you have a PSP 2000 or 3000 you can use your video out function to play on the big screen if you want that experience.

  • Hey, I don’t know if this has been answered at IGN or whatnot, but is the level creator there too? (as in the one in LR1?)

  • Hi Tsubasa and Sony, I pre-ordered LocoRoco2 from Amazon on the 14th when you sent out this blog entry on the playstation blog but I still haven’t recieved a pre-order bonus of free access to the demo. When I contacted Amazon they said that the pre-order bonus was only valid if you pre-ordered before Jan. 12th. What gives? Why did you mention this in the blog message about getting a demo bonus from Amazon if the pre-order bonus had already expired on the 12th? Now I am not sure if I should cancel my order and go somewhere else.
Any help on this would be appreciated? I’m sure others have the same issue.
