Everyone at United Front Games and SCEA are extremely exited to finally put the game in your hands. I’m here to give everyone a quick peek into some of the features and content available in the ModNation Racers PS3 public beta.
In short we are giving you the ability to race, share, download, remix, rate, and most importantly create. Everyone with a beta code will have our state of the art creation tools at your finger tips. We’re absolutely stoked to see the Tracks, Mods, and Karts the beta community will create.
The public beta will include three tracks from the full game Farm Frenzy, Market Run and Sandstorm. There are a couple of race options included in the beta as well. In addition to playing online with up to 12 players, you can compete for the best lap times in Time Trial.
It’s home on the firing range here on Farm Frenzy. Drift and shortcut your way through these meadows, but look out for the sheep! Especially if you dare to take the jump off the barn roof.
The desert oasis in Market Run (left) looks calm from the outside, but the action inside is anything but. Crash through the crowded alleys to max out your weapons and pull out 720-spins on the big wall jump to build up your boost. In Sand Storm (right) Deep in the heart of the desert, this off-road race winds through rolling dunes and treacherous cliffs. Try not to break a sweat as you explore the many paths through the buried ruins.
The next area of the game included in the beta I would like to talk about is the ModSpot. What’s the ModSpot you ask? It’s the central hub area in ModNation Racers you load into once you download the beta. Everything takes place in the ModSpot. It’s where you can meet up with your friends or make some new ones. You can also view, rate, and download the top rated Mods, Karts, and Tracks as well. Lastly it’s where you launch into the Creation Station where you can create your own Mods, Karts and Tracks.
Remember, in North America the ModNation Racers Public Beta will run from today, December 18, through January 10 for everyone who was lucky enough to procure a beta voucher. If you already have a voucher (Did you pick up LittleBigPlanet Game of the Year Edition?), fire up your PS3 and redeem your code on the PlayStation Store to get in on the action. If you don’t have one, you’re in luck – the PlayStation.Blog is giving away a few hundred today! Keep your eyes peeled to the PlayStation Twitter feed and Facebook Page today for details (If you’re unlucky today, even more Beta vouchers will be given away on Monday!).

I’ve tried the beta and it’s amazing! There’s so many possibilities for creating different and unique characters just with so little options of the ones they give you! The gameplay is the best i’ve ever seen and the track creation is so easy!

Because of the beta code givaway, a glitch on the PSN web site (that nobody at sony cares about) and horrible sony customer service I will not be buying this game and I doubt if I will spend any more money on PSN. Sony has me extreamely frustrated!
@145, at least you got a theme, I got nothing. Sony never gives me anything and I do buy a lot of games.

Ramone Rusell im begging you post some more betas please.Im literally dying to play it. And since there is so much games coming in 2010 i really want to know if its worth it.
If there is no more betas just tell us or at least tell us what day you will give more but don’t leave us here glued to our computers and you should do something were you justlog in and get a code for a limited amount of time. All of us here waiting for codes, we just wan’t to play and have a nice time and seriously imagine people who have waited hours and hours just to have codes posted and gone in less than a matter of minutes. Sure we had our chance with little big planet game of the year but there was also other awesome games and we can’t afford to buy everything. Sony really consider what i said. Please im begging you.
I would actually go check the Facebook page again. People said that the codes were gone within the first 5 seconds, but it is not entirely true. The codes didn’t work because of all the code entering they did prior to that. I did get a code long afterward and entered it using a different account which worked.
This is not fair. Just found out about it today! Why can’t you just put up a Beta like Uncharted 2 where everyone can play?

Mag released a beta today and its for Free – some people have common courtest for dedicated gamers – If you want the beta go to playstation store and search the word ( mag ) it will be under mag public beta <–

Love the beta, but you guys couldve put more thinking into the weapons…i know there are 12 total but it really feels like 4 or 5 real ones…Saw molotovs in the game which would be sweet to see upgrade to napalms then a flamethrower, or grenades to a rolling bomb, to a nuke (mushroom cloud effect=awesome), all in all there needs to be a massive collection of weapons. Also it looks like the cars wont have that much bodies to choose from and look like they need more but all and all great game love it and look forward to seeing the final outcome. Congrats on a great game Unite Front!

Oh my god! this game is amazing there is always something to do in it. You got split scree local races online multyplayer races , time races, create a car customize character create a track its better than littlebigplanet its like a new and improved littlebigplanet on wheels.

Hi Ramone,I think the game is great but there are some issues:
1) It freezes a lot
2) All sound (and music) gets lost sometimes
3) In the creation mode, when designing a track, if you make roads one above the other (a spiral shaped track, I mean, which should be available because it is a lot fun making tracks like that) the “place props” function goes berserk and instead of placing the item in the level you want, it places it on the part of the road above that one (for an example of such a track, you can check out my track named “Nausea track”.
4) There should be a “smooth” function for landscapes
5) The boost used by L1 seems to not contribute to the car’s speed at all (it can be improved).
6) More mobile obstacles would be great (such as piston-controlled obstacles (moving from one side to another) and piston-controlled platforms (raising the palyers up -and down-).
I couldn’t find the “fedback” link that you mentioned about, so I felt the need to write all my opinions here.
Other than these things, the game is great, thanks for such a game…

5) When browsing user generated tracks, the ps3 slows down with each page and eventually, freezes.

I’d like to believe more codes will be available soon, but given the rate they get snapped up I’ve almost given up hope of getting one :(
