It may not come with “rack-and-peanut steering” like the Homer car, but Gran Turismo 5’s Collector’s Edition is still an object of admiration for any car lover. Jeff and I got our grubby paws on the first in-house box and have defiled its pristine shrink wrap for your viewing pleasure in the video above. Love that new-car smell!

like many others have said. I am kinda disappointed in the size of the model car. I can get over that i guess, doubt my wife would have let me display it anyways, but would have been nice to have. can’t wait for the game, like many others my game won’t get to me until some time between Dec 1-3, which suck, but my birthday is Dec 4th so i guess i can be slightly ok with it.

Guys, learn to edit your vids better. Your voices are too low, so I have to turn the volume up, then the music comes on about 10X louder than your voices. Come on, get a little balance here so I don’t have to keep adjusting the volume.

those cars will be on the ps store trust me, give it it’s timed exculsive to it, put a 1.99 a piece or 4.99 bundle price on it and watch it sell like crazy, all it takes is threads and post on the web site, the fans always gets what they want,

Thank you SCEA and Polyphony Digital.

Long time GT fan since 1998.
Getting the CE, that guide is too important. The extra cars are not a bad deal either hehe.

By the way can you guys tell Kazunori that we understand and appreciate his work?

Don’t worry ’bout those who whine, your games are legendary.

where have you been looking that Kyosho diecasts go for only $40 to $50? :o The ones I’ve seen online go for a fair bit more than that.

Soooooo, yea… after watching the video and reading about it… I just switched from the standard version to the collectors addition. Looking forward to thumbing through that 300 page book. :)

Minus $120 for me, but hopefully a good portion of that goes straight to the developers pockets. Much deserved. Cant wait to tear into this game!

I already pre-ordered the standard edition a few months ago when Newegg had it on sale ($12 off and free shipping, pretty good deal for a game that wasn’t even out yet! I got the same deal for Little Big Planet 2 as well. Newegg is awesome.)

I already preordered the CE but I have two questions please.
So do we get to transfer anything at all from Prologue like they said we would back when Prologue came out?
Can we use the CE cars throughout the game or just in Arcade mode?
Thanks,

Great job on the video guys!

On that note for the next unboxing video you should definitely lose the blue light, you should be showing off the content in natural light so we can actually see what it looks like clearly.

Hope there is one for the Helghast edition!

@123

I think you meant “shame”… anyway.. the game is available at that day all over the world.. not just in US.

In a few hours, I’ll get my copy here in Mexico :)

+ MrMortality on November 23rd, 2010 at 1:00 pm said:

Hey guys! One question. When does the US get the SIGNATURE EDITION treatment? If no, then why not?
Getting CE BTW! Have been playing GT since GT1 on PS1

126

+ RyanTL on November 23rd, 2010 at 1:38 pm said:

This is £130 in the UK. Is there any reason why there is such a large price difference? The US version is only $40 more than the standard version but the UK CE is £90 more, the cost is even more to us Brits when exchange rates are taken into account!

127

+ RyanTL on November 23rd, 2010 at 1:47 pm said:

Oops, ignore my last comment. I just noticed the CE is lacking a lot of things that are included in the SE. But £90 over the standard game is still a bit steep in my opinion, unless I win the SLS Merc in which case I will say it’s a bargain.

128

+ Rios on November 23rd, 2010 at 2:45 pm said:

I pre-ordered the CE a while back, cant wait to pick it up tomorrow! I don’t care about how small the car is, I ordered it more for the exclusive additional cars and the book then the model, besides it will fit perfectly on my desk.

LOL leave it to sony to alienate their GT fans by not putting up the GT5 CE editions 5 extra cars as DLC. It seems that sony and other companys seem to forget that it is the gamers that they make their money off of. I dont know sony needs to make the 5 extra cars avaiable to those people who are having a rough time in this economy. I think this is just too funny and a really stupid move on sony or polyphone digitals part. Sometimes these game developers/compants really are stupid morons LMFAO!!!!
