Rey Gutierrez's Avatar + Posted by Rey Gutierrez on Sep 04, 2011 // Senior Social Media Specialist

Arm yourself with the PlayStation Move and a pair of 3D glasses and join the resistance when Insomniac Games drops Resistance 3 on PS3 this week. Naughty Dog combines their award winning greatest hits titles; UNCHARTED: Drake’s Fortune and UNCHARTED 2: Among Thieves, on a single blu-ray, to help all new (and current) Nathan Drake fans catch up on his previous two adventures before they embark on UNCHARTED 3: Drake’s Deception.

Greek mythology’s man in white and lover of war, gets ahead of himself and dishes out a PSN demo for God of War: Origins, continuing our first party domination this week. Dead Island, Driver: San Francisco, Bloodrayne: Betrayal, a quintuple of minis and a PSone Japan import, is the barbecue sauce on your succulent PlayStation ribs this Labor Day weekend. Enjoy this week’s The Drop.

PlayStation 3

Resistance 3 (3D and PS Move Support) — America is lost. Four years after the epic conclusion of Resistance 2, dishonorably discharged Sentinel Joseph Capelli is in hiding from the invading Chimeran menace with a pocket of survivors, including his new wife and young son. But when Dr. Fyodor Malikov arrives with a desperate plan, he sets into motions the events of Resistance 3, the third installment in the popular full-featured first-person shooter series. Resistance 3 is created by critically-acclaimed developer Insomniac Games exclusively for the PlayStation 3 system.

Set in a brutal, alternate 1950s universe, America has been successfully conquered and destroyed by the deadly Chimeran race, forcing the last remaining human survivors to seek refuge in hiding. Players must take on the role of Joseph Capelli, the last surviving Sentinel from a clandestine military program, as he comes out of hiding to journey across a land of ruin in a heroic fight for survival against the merciless Chimera. In addition to an epic single-player campaign, Resistance 3 offers two-player online or split-screen co-op through the single-player campaign, and a new, focused progression-based multiplayer experience.

Oh, and besides that one title great drop! I will be playing Dead Island this Tuesday for sure, and the little Resistance 3 beta impressed me so I might check it out aswell( I would have played the game for campaign at the very least before).

Too bad PS1 Classics don’t have trophies, I’m sure its too much hassle to add those to existing ps1 data… but it sure would help me decide to download more of them ;P

@Teflon02: Unless you won’t have the money next week, go ahead and buy R3 now. WKC2 doesn’t come out until the 13th.
This is a pretty big drop this week, really nice. I’ll be picking up Space Marine, and I may just trade in my copies of Uncharted 1 and 2 for that dual pack, just to have them in one collection. And I’ll get the extra content for UC2, which I haven’t felt like buying separately on the PS Store.

any idea if Burning Skies and R3 are going to “share” info like retribution did with resistance 2?
