You’re Invited – Resistance: Burning Skies Lights Up San Francisco Next Week

Jeff Rubenstein's Avatar Posted by Sr. Social Media Manager

Resistance: Burning Skies for PS Vita - Executioner

Ever since the PS Vita’s second analog stick was revealed, gamers have been salivating for the first true portable FPS. We’re getting close; Resistance: Burning Skies will be released on May 29th. But what if you don’t want to wait that long? RBS developer Nihilistic will cross the Golden Gate next week to give the public a sneak peek hands-on with the first multiplayer FPS on PS Vita.

This won’t just be a casual run through the multiplayer game modes – we’ll be running a tournament with top players awarded a copy of the game when it releases, and a PS Vita prize package for the top overall gunner.

Jeff, is there ever going to be a PlayStation event near Missouri? I’ve always wanted to go to something like this, but they’re always held in Cali or New York.

I hope Nihilistic does the series justice, looking back at what they’ve done doesn’t fill me confidence. So far I like what I see, except when the chimera explode after been hit with an axe.

Sid, when you say “if you’re under 18 just bring a parent/guardian” – did you mean 21?

I’m 20, is there any point in taking the MUNI ride?

Just wondering, since you tell us to bring our IDs, but usually people say that when it’s 21+.

So no love for people who don’t conveniently live in a california again… Shame people can’t expand by making “public” hands on through streaming or temporary downloads, more or less, by digitalizing meetings and reaching out through the ever expanding and evolving potential of online networks, for those that don’t live on the west coast or other major cities.

Heck yeah. Now this is why I bought a Vita — for real games with real dual analog sticks and physical buttons that I can take on the go. Not for YouTube or a web browser or casual games that are only fun for 5 minutes like some people on this blog. Looking forward to other real games being announced for Vita at E3 this year.

This title’s looking great. I have such a backlog of games that I’m primarily focusing on Vita releases as I can take it w/ me. Unless there are more incentives to purchase both the console & the Vita version like The Show, I need to play & finish what I have first. Hmm, maybe this year’s Madden will have a similar feature/pricing model as The Show? I hope so!

Here’s to the Resistance series living on in the Vita! It’s such a rich franchise; keep it alive people!

Word of advice to anyone going: Get there early! I went to the Unit 13 tourney & was told it was over shortly after it began. I doubt it goes later than 10.

Blkant said:

Atl is part of the real south though, too risky. :P Mia however, I missed that one. Btw, you think 8 years of orlando is bad try 23. :P

Cautiously optimistic about this game, but there seems to be a dearth of media for it. Not much gameplay footage and very few screenshots.
