Mastering Mortal Kombat for PS Vita

Mortal Kombat for PS Vita has come out of the gate strong after shipping on May 1st. In just two weeks, players have clashed in hundreds of thousands of online matches across the world. With the PS Vita system players can access a complete Mortal Kombat experience on the go, whether you’re on the bus, in the library, or hanging out with friends.

There are quite a few unique features with this Vita version of Mortal Kombat. While preserving the core gameplay elements, we’ve implemented a ton of new functionalities, such as touchscreen Fatalities and X-Rays, as well as an all-new Challenge Tower II that takes advantage of the diversity of features that the PS Vita system provides.

One question that we continue to see on our official @MK_MortalKombat Twitter is: “Netherrealm, I can’t beat Mission XXX in the new Challenge Tower! Can you help?” Why, yes we can! To answer, we decided to put together some Tips and Tricks videos to outline strategies for some of the more difficult missions within the Challenge Tower II (it’s not called Easy Tower!).

Check out our video here to see our design team spill some secrets on how to master new, exclusive characters and use the new PS Vita system features to their maximum potential. Once you’re done, please share your tips in the comments section below!

  • I ended story mode (again since I have the PS3 version to), I’m at level 154 on the normal 300 levels challenge tower and I just played like 5 levels of the VITA exclusive tower (saving that one for last). I still have to end the ladder mode with most fightersto ee their endings and see most of the Fatalities, the Babalitys, and other stuff… This game is endless fun, and I don’t even care much for the MP function.

But then again, I’m 31 years old and my nickname is MK24ever, this game is like a love letter to me, a good one!

  • Awesome game, loving every minute of it. The amount of content is staggering.

  • love Mortal Kombat!

  • Just wanna say: That is an AWESOME Calvin (or is it Kalvin?) & Hobbes shirt, Hector!
Thanks for the handy tips, guys!

  • I still cant believe you guys left in the “My King Fu is Stronger” trophy for the Vita version. There is no way I’m leaving my Vita on for 768 hours.

  • Seriously, I mean why keep it on a on-the-go system, it would take 2 years to get it normally, I still haven’t gotten for ps3 and I played everyday for a year, I haven’t gotten desperate enough just to leave it on D:

  • This game looks like fun but I’m sure that the lack of a demo is holding back many PS Vita owners from buying this game.

    Will there be a demo?

  • this game is a blast, i loved it when i was young, my 20’s i spent playing this, i skipped PS2 doing my DJing career then sickness slowed my life down but soo glad gaming continued and this franchise has a stronghold in my gaming roots.

All my friends are amazed how it looks and plays! Keep up the great work on the Vita & PS Systems, hope ya doing PS Suit Stuff too.

  • @JKar275 thats exactly what would i need before i would decide to get mortal kombat…
    A DEMO!

  • Loving this game! It runs so smooth I really don’t care that we had to give up some character pixels to have 60 FPS and I’m sure every owner would agree with me.
Being an old school gamer I try to play it as I did my Genesis versions but soon found out it plays a whole lot faster! LOL In any case one thing I noticed is Shao Khan plays so cheap but also found out that with most fighters you can do a simple super move jump over him and do it over again. For the most part you can get him like this with most fighters.
Anyway, loving MK on Vita and can’t wait for SFXT!

  • Cant wait to pick it up :D
I love MK and i love the challenge trophies will give

  • Mortal Kombat on the Vita is even better that it is on the PS3. The only thing I’ve really noticed missing, is the one thing I truly despised about the console experience… The console’s chat lobby for multiplayer is filled with people that like to spam profanity and inappropriate taunts. On the Vita…. not an issue.

  • This is so far the greatest vita game for playing it on the go (unlike f.e. uncharted, which i prefered playing at home). You can just take it out for a few minuites and have fun.

I see myself playing this game for the year to come

  • Blah blah blah Vita.

  • Still need to pick this up. Knowing the gameplay is fine, based on users and reviewers makes the lesser graphics not an issue for me. Content is more important to me, and this has bundles of it.

  • can you patch the graphic ?
this the first time i regreting from buying a digital games.

  • I will get MK next week, anx i will Upload gameplays, tricks and more to youtube http://www.youtube.com/user/CroHack97 Subscribe :)

  • When are we getting more VITA games?? I heard we’re getting new apps soon, but I would like more games so I can justify getting a Bigger Memory stick. Also, when are BETA invites going out for LBP VITA??? I have mortal Kombat for vita, it’s nice.. But I think I’ll stick to the retail cards from now on, just so my memory stick budget doesn’t go out of control.

Wait, if you can use multi-touch on the touch-screen challenges, how can they be challenging? Can’t you just tap everywhere you need to and insta-win?

  • Will the PS Vita version ever be able to play against the PS3 version right now?
I was wondering because this would likely not only sell more units it would be an awesome addition to both games.
