The Wolf Among Us Comes to PS Vita This Fall

Hey everyone! We’re super happy to announce that The Wolf Among Us, the latest episodic series from Telltale Games, is coming to PS Vita for download later this fall!

The Wolf Among Us

What’s this “Wolf” stuff about? Based on the award-winning Fables comic book series, The Wolf Among Us is an often violent, mature and hard-boiled thriller where the characters and creatures of myth, lore and legend are real and exist in our world. These aren’t quite the characters you might remember from childhood stories though. Playing as Bigby Wolf – the big bad wolf in human form – you’ll discover that the brutal, bloody murder of a Fable is just a taste of things to come.

If you’ve already played The Walking Dead on PlayStation 3 or PS Vita, you’ll be familiar with the gameplay in The Wolf Among Us. It’s all about choice and consequence, but we’ve definitely upped the ante (especially in the action sequences)!

In case you missed it the first time around, be sure to check out the recent PlayStation Blogcast with Episode 1 co-director Nick Herman for more details on the series, and a few hints about what you might be in for…

Like The Walking Dead on PS Vita, you’ll be able to choose between analog or touchscreen controls, or even switch on the fly if that’s what you like. Great news for those who prefer to play inverted as well: we’ve added an “invert Y” option in The Wolf Among Us, so you’ll feel right at home.

Even if you’ve already been enjoying Bigby’s exploits on PlayStation 3, the PS Vita version could be an opportunity to make different decisions in another playthrough, any time and any place it suits you.

We’re working to lock down the debut date and price, so stay tuned for more info on that front! In the meantime, check out the trailer to see what people have been saying about Episode 1.

  • I’m going to wait, and hope, that this gets a retail release when it finishes like The Walking Dead did. Then I will buy the crud out of it for my PS Vita.

  • Cool! Glad I didn’t pick up the PC version. (Just wish I hadn’t bought The Walking Dead on Steam before I knew about the Vita version.)

  • I’m excited that there will be a vita version.

Biggest concern is smooth gameplay please! I don’t know about lag in walking dead, but I don’t want any of it here <3

Otherwise.. I guess I'll wait for the Vita version :) if I want it on a bigscreen, maybe TT will Humblebundle the PC version someday.

  • Cross Save and Cross Trophies or no buy. Tired of games expecting me to have separate experiences from my PS3 and expecting me to like it. I want one set of trophies to collect so I can reach 100% when I’m on the go or when I got home. I want my progress in the game and in accomplishments(trophies) to continue where ever I’m at regardless of my platform. I want senseless easy to use interaction with my PS3. Otherwise there is no point in me buying some isolated product that adds nothing to my PS3 experience and is just a port to the Vita.

Some people may like earning the same trophies twice, I do not and it tends to kill my experience. if you feel you can’t make both camps happy, then I refer you to MGS HD Collection where you earn twice the trophies for accomplishing them only once. I don’t want to have such a disjointed play twice experience I don’t hvae time for that. I’ll move onto the next game before doing that.

  • Fantastic news have it on the pc but il have to hold out until the retail version of TWAU comes to vita still waiting on TWD UK retail release cant find it any wear XD.

  • I too had problems with frame rate on vita.. why is there no addressing this? 3 out of 4 comments here include this?

The way Laura Perusco has just brushed over the comments has just made me brush over this game. Which I was excited about reading that it was coming to my platform of choice vita.

  • hmm… disappointed in the lack of cross-buy support. as much as i enjoy adventure games, i don’t think they’re worth buying TWICE for two different platforms that often times have supported cross-buy… particularly once it’s been finished the first time and you know what the basic ending is. i think a lack of cross-buy on it really hurts the fight to support the vita. sadly, i’ll be passing on the vita version unless this issue gets resolved (maybe a discount if not cross-buy). loved TWAU on ps3… will just have to play it from home.

  • Hopefully it will not have frame rate issue like the walking dead..

  • amazing!

    should have been crossbuy though

  • Wonderful news. Please put out a physical retail release when the season is finished. That would be so fantastic.
