Futuridium EP Deluxe Races to PS4, PS Vita Tuesday

Hello PlayStation fans, it’s Mauro from MixedBag again. Finally, we can announce the release date of Futuridium EP Deluxe for PS4 and PS Vita — how’s next week sound? Yep! Futuridium EP Deluxe is blasting onto PlayStation Store on September 30th, with a release price of $12.49 and a 20% launch discount for PlayStation Plus members, which brings the price down to $9.99.

The game is Cross Buy, so pay once and get your Futuridium fix at home on PS4 and on the go on PS Vita, with shared leaderboards so you can always compete for the highest score possible. We’re also proud to announce that Futuridium EP Deluxe is fully compatible with PlayStation TV, and will be available as soon as the console launches.

Futuridium EP Deluxe offers a huge new campaign featuring 50 levels, five bosses, crazy bonus levels, new gameplay mechanics, well-hidden super secret stuff and a slew of unlockable extra modes. And while the continue unlock system will help you reach the end of the game, good luck snagging all of Futuridium’s 150 medals and its Trophies, and competing to reach the top of the leaderboards. Yes, it’s crazy difficult.

  • I’m an old school fan of Star Fox.
A game type sorely neglected, and in desperate need of.

Nice PS Plus discount, and too bad Frozen Synapsis didn’t follow.

Probably going to wait for more info, like gameplay, difficulty, and game length before buying though.

  • Looks like great fun that I cannot wait to get my hands on!

Question: Is the soundtrack available separately?

  • This looks like tons of fun. I don’t really feel like digging into some immersive, profound space shooter with all the other games clogging up the holiday season, but something like this is perfect to fill the gaps. The launch discount hits the sweet spot, too.

    Good luck with the launch!

  • Thank you for bringing it to Vita.

  • Loved the iOS version, will definitely be picking this up!

  • I’ve been watching this one for a while and am digging it. Any chance of a demo? I may just buy this, but I’m not 100% sure yet.

And again, it’s “PS4 and PS Vita”. Commas are not the same as the word “and”. Also, the first word after the game title shouldn’t be capitalized. It sometimes confuses people into thinking that it’s part of the game’s title.

  • I will buy this!!! one question… is the inverted controls locked in like the ps4 demo or do you guys have an option to remove inverted controls

  • Great!!! It reminds me the old Zaxxon (from Commodore 64 maybe?)

  • Wow, looks like a lot of fun AND it has a rad soundtrack. Count me in, for sure picking this up in a week or two. Nice price as well, thanks for the discount guys!

  • easy day 1 buy. thanks for bringing this on the vita unlike the knuckleheads from EA with peggle 2.

  • Great price, great soundtrack. Speaking of which, how much will the soundtrack cost? Maybe I need to pick up another PSN card for the one I’ve had set aside for this for forever.

  • I loved the iOS version of it, but it was always tough because of the controls and screen size of my phone. I’m really looking forward to this on the big screen with nice controls, but I’m still a little worried that it will be too difficult to progress. Being old, I remember “old school difficulty,” but I worry that I won’t have the reflexes to enjoy this. Will there be a Dad mode?

    • For the Deluxe version the main 50 levels campaign is brand new and we balanced the difficulty curve a lot better to make the game more approachable and fun (but not easy!).
Also you unlock more continues and extra stuff just by playing, so the idea is that anyone will be able to reach the end of the game with a bit of practice, but only the more skilled and dedicated ones will get all the trophies.

  • Its a shame you are one of many indie devs who join the “SKIP THE PS3” wagon with 99% of new games announced for release.
I wonder, does Sony pay extra to indie devs these days to deliberately avoid making ps3 version?
Or is it too hard to make a game for ps3 of this complexity (irony)?

Sad thing is, money would be twice as better with ps3 version included, just by sheer market volume of 90 mil ps3 users.

I wish you good luck with game, it looks very fun. Im old school, would be great on ps3. :(

    • Hi,

We focused on PS4 and PSVita for launch since we are an incredible small team (only two people) and it would have been crazy difficult for us to do a third version of the game.
      Never say never… ;)

  • Nice. Zaxxon + Cybermorph

Is it too late to add this in the game when you crash?

  • Looks sharp! Like Zaxxon to the hundredth power. Looking forward to playing this.

  • We were massively inspired by Zaxxon. And Uridium (remember it?) ;)

  • I’m a huge Uridium fan (had it on the ZX Spectrum!) so I’m looking forward to this.
Very glad it’s a downloadable title though, because I’d hate to go into Gamestop and have to ask for it by such an unpronounceable name!

  • @17
LOL! Me too! My first comp was ZX Spectrum+ some 25 years ago, then the Commodore 64, Im also a big fan of these games, hence my sadness its not coming to ps3.

    @Mauro Fanelli
Atleast you guys have a valid reason for doing PS4/Vita version only, with team of two I can imagine how hard it must have been.
Most of medium/large devs have small army of people and they could do PS3 versions no problem, if they wanted to.
Again, I hope game does well, and when I get PS4 eventualy, I’ll buy the game for sure.

  • The price is right. Not sure about the game, though.

  • @RetroDaddySlim, Gotta keep in mind that we are nearly a year into current-gen, so last-gen support isn’t going to be too strong anymore. Personally, I wish last-gen support would have ended months ago because we still have yet to really see impressive current-gen games, since most are being held back by old systems. However, these smaller indie titles don’t seem to suffer that same fate in terms of quality for newer platforms. If Futuridium makes it to PS3, I’m sure it’ll still look and play awesome.

  • stereoscopic 3D support on PS4, yes? 1080p @ 60fps in 3D as well?

    thanks!

  • I second stereoscopic 3D support on PS4 (yes, some of us still want it, and this game begs for it!).

  • Not my type of game but thanks for suporting the vita! :)

  • Oh dang, I wasn’t expecting to get that excited when I clicked on this blog post. This game looks AWESOME.
