Today you can download The Last of Us: Left Behind – the gripping prequel to The Last of Us – as a standalone story chapter on both the PS3 and PS4. The standalone release of Left Behind is the perfect entry into this world of survival, loyalty, and love if you haven’t experienced it yet. Here’s a glimpse of that story and some of the critical acclaim it’s received since its initial launch on the PS3 and PS4.

    it’s nice to see it as a standalone download but i played the original so i won’t be getting it . nice option though

    DO NOT PLAY Left Behind without first completing The Last of Us.
    It takes place chronologically before TLOU, yes, but it also takes place during TLOU and reveals some pretty big story information. Unless you’re okay with huge spoilers and broken storytelling, play The Last of Us before you play Left Behind.

    This is weird. Unless it has separate trophies I see very little reason for most people to buy it.

    I still have not played this game though I have watched hundreds of videos on it. I do not like survival horror and crafting. I have watched all the cutscenes, commentaries, reviews, and analysis of it. It is really an awesome game. I game for story and experience not for skill or completion. Please give Grant Voegtle a job. He is doing a great job keeping this game alive and giving new insights. I loved his video on how the last of us changed his life and I am watching his episodic cinematic playthrough. You should edit his episodic and put it on Netflix, Hulu, and YouTube. I also really love SolePorpoise analysis too. I am tempted on just buying the game digitally to support you guys even though I won’t play it.

    @3 – People who didn’t play the DLC on ps3 and don’t want to buy the remaster can simply buy this to experience it on ps4. Alternatives are never a bad thing.

    So I can just buy this stand alone on PS4 and I’ll be able to play the multiplayer for that system? If so, it’s worth it for me as I already own the full game on PS3 and just wanted to play multiplayer on next gen.

    If you don’t want to play it don’t play it. It’s a game. You won’t be missed. It is however one of the best games Sony has going for it, so don’t play it. Just don’t comment on it. That’s a little elementary.
