  • Enjoy the show! It’s a big one!

  • Yay you guys are all back! Missed you guys.

  • My favourite show, and my favourite topic! My Saturday morning blogcast is back! It’s going to be a great weekend!

    • * VR is probably my favourite topic at the moment — it’s in the top 5 for sure. I should have made that more clear, but in my fervent excitement, my jittery limbs betrayed my will and “post comment” was prematurely clicked… *shakes head* Canadians, amiright?!?!

PS. I hail from the frost peaked Canadian north, where maple syrup flows like wine fermented from maple syrup….

  • Glad to see everyone back for this one! You guys had me down last week when there wasn’t a Blogcast lol. Can’t wait for Fallout 4 next week!

  • Nice to see everyone back at once, also nice to have a longer episode again. Anytime it’s over an hour is like early Christmas! ^_^

  • A big “shoe” and the whole gang’s here for it? And there’ll be a VR discussion, AND Yoshida-san will be joining? This sounds almost too good to be true you guys….this isn’t some internet scam or something right? :p

  • OMG! Can’t believe the level of depth the Dead Star guy went into about Mr. Robot. “WinVM”!

I’m am irrevocably going to buy that game now. There’s no chance I won’t.

  • A full crew AND Shu?! Sounds like a doozy of a show! Can’t wait to take it all in :-)

  • Personally, I prefer Twizzlers. :p

Also, I’ve had a chance to try out some of Dead Star. It is pretty fun if you like twin stick shooters. It kind of reminds me of Project Root meets Super Stardust HD.

Can’t wait to see what you guys announce at PSX this year (if anything [subject to change, amirite?]). Wish I could go but being in Illinois and the cost of travel and lodging make it difficult. I REALLY hope you live stream it again. Any word on that by the way?

Last thing, I was surprised to not hear any mention of Kingdom Hearts in your JRPG discussion. Are there no fans among you? It’s my all time favorite franchise, and the first one still holds up in my opinion, especially if you play the HD remake on PS3.

  • Hello I have a request for the next ps vita update. The ability to switch Left analog stick to d-pad. I went to the custom button assignment and I can only switch Left analog stick to Right analog stick. There should be Left analog stick to d-pad in the next ps vita update. I need this option for some games. Thanks.

  • Great show guys! I am so excited to see what PSX has in store this year! I will be flying all the way from Indiana, and will be my first time at a gaming convention! I have been working on building my own game and can’t wait to see what and how others are making their games! #PS4LIFE

  • I can’t stop watching that RIGS trailer from Paris Games Week, it’s so cool! What will be even cooler is seeing how you’ll get a trophy in virtual reality =P

Anyway, Paris Games Week was great! Glad to see the four of you back to talk about it =D

  • One Punch Man! Ryan should totally cosplay as Saitama and Justin can be his Genos! Loving that show so far.

  • Correction: The Eiffel Tower was NOT a gift from the US. It was a monument for the centennial celebration of the French Revolution, funded partly by the French government. Mr. Shuman believing in tales I’m afraid.

    • Eiffel engineered the skeleton that The Statue of Liberty is mounted on. His employees designed the Eiffel Tower, which he trademarked. When he finally got the contract to build it, he was paid little upfront. Instead, he collected all of the towers income for the first 20 years. (I sent this in an email earlier but thought I might as well chime in here too).

  • Another great show, first off, let me say that I grew up in Michigan, and I’m pretty confident that I can speak on behalf of the Midwest in favor of twizzlers.

Paris is one of my favorite places on earth and I’m very sorry to hear that it seemed to be all work and no play for Ryan.

Always good to have Mr. Yoshida on the show, his enthusiasm is contagious and you all are fortunate to have him as a boss.

  • Finally, my ever evolving thoughts on VR…
From the start I have been fascinated by people’s descriptions of the experience, however I have always felt quite confident that the price alone will keep this form of VR from being a financial success, and thus developers will not continue to make real, gamers-games for it. Throw in the fact that mainstream games like cod and madden are not really a good fit for it, and my scepticalness increases. All that said, I’m personally sold and will buy one on day one. Gran Tourismo alone will be worth the asking price for me, and I can’t wait for the day where I get to fly an x-wing in VR. (That said, can we get an official yes or no confirmation for no man’s sky please?) I’m also excited for the non-game experiences that could come in the future. I would be super fired up for some real rover footage that would allow me to walk around on the moon or Mars. …or to swim deep under the ocean. …or even just walk around in foreign lands and/or cities. I just hope that Sony is actually able to market this successfully or is able to look at the very long game in terms of success and failure for this product. I’m doubtful, but at this point my hopes are set for high.

    • As a little kid I imagined a future where games would either be played on a smartphone or at home with a VR helmet and something like a multidirectional treadmill. So far I was right about one, (although I thought that smartphones would dock with additional components, the way that new Alienware laptops can be connected to an external GPU).
I think that the future of VR this generation is more secure than motion controls were last generation. With the success of the Wii, the other consoles joined. Xbox went an entirely different route. Playstation had a similar method to the Wii but the Wii’s was too weak for there to be many multiplatform motion control games. By the time the Wii U closed the gap, the novelty had worn off and third-party support waned.
VR will, at least, have some racing, and probably, flying sims. Enthusiasts willing to buy racing wheels or flightsticks (especially high-end ones), are more likely to support VR and since those peripherals are still made; one can assume there is still a market.

  • You guys were on fire this episode. I mean between Nick’s comment about Twizzlers tasting vaguely of fruit and then the Werther’s Original jab at Sid were golden. Justin thinks non-egg-shaped Reese’s are trash and Twizzlers are disgusting?? – noted. Ryan accuses Nick of being a candy hipster!! Sid… ORANGINA!?? Dead. And you brought up 5th Avenue and Skor bars which are fantastic (fellow East Coaster represent) but failed to mention Heath bars?? And with Nick the candy hipster I figured he would bring up Goldenberg’s Peanut Chews.

AND YOU GUYS FORGOT RAISINETS AT THE MOVIES?!! Seriously? (at least Sid didn’t bring up Sno Caps or Good and Plenty…)

Twizzlers and Red Vines are both flavored plastic, people. But Nick is right. Twizzlers taste vaguely of fruit. I am from New Jersey and agree with the regional hypothesis.

ColonelOCorn summons all zombies to get down.

  • Awesome True Grit reference this week, The Cowboy Poet approves. Do the Blogcast crew have any favourite western films?
Also: as a Canadian from BC, I’ve never even seen Red Vines. I am starting to believe Americans are just making them up to confuse the rest of us. #twizlers4life

  • My last pay check was $9500 working 12 hours a week online. My sisters friend has been averaging 15k for months now and she works about 20 hours a week. I can’t believe how easy it was once I tried it out. This is what I do… wallstreet34.com
