First, we are very happy to announce the dates for the eagerly awaited Battlefield 3 Open Beta on PSN. The Beta is open to all and will run from September 29th to October 10th. You can join it by simply going to the going the PlayStation Store and navigating to the “View All By Title” section, then selecting Battlefield 3 – within there you’ll see the download for the Battlefield 3 demo!
Prepare for battle in the bombed-out metro tunnels on the outskirts of Paris in the upcoming Battlefield 3 Open Beta!
Alternatively, if you have redeemed a Medal of Honor: Limited Edition or Tier 1 Edition Online Pass, you will receive early access via a personal email invitation from DICE that includes 48-hour early access, which will allow you to start playing on September 27th.
The Open Beta is your chance to play Battlefield 3 early, try out our free social platform Battlelog, and give your valued feedback directly to those of us at DICE. You participating in the Battlefield 3 Open Beta means that you are not only helping us load test the servers, but more importantly, helping us fine-tune the final components of the multiplayer game.
During your time in the Open Beta, you’ll be playing on the map Operation Métro – a map you might have seen coverage of from E3, where we won the Best Multiplayer Game award.
But that’s not all for our PlayStation fans! You’ll be happy to know that beginning with our first expansion pack Battlefield 3: Back to Karkand (to be released later this year), all full-blown upcoming expansion packs for the game will appear one week early exclusively on PS3, brought to you by Sony!
As you may or may not have heard, Battlefield 3: Back to Karkand is a themed expansion pack containing four of the most loved maps from Battlefield 2, boldly reimagined in the Frostbite 2 engine. It also features new weapons and vehicles, unique in-game dog tags, new persistence, as well as new Trophies.

I also wanted to say thank you for your continued support for DICE and Battlefield 3. Meeting our fans in person is always very rewarding and exciting. We went to gamescom with the PS3 co-op mission Exfiltration, and at Tokyo Game Show we let visitors play the single player mission Operation Guillotine. The response so far has been overwhelming, and we look forward to showing you more action from Battlefield 3 before the North American launch on October 25th.

Not that I’m complaining or anything, but it seems kinda not cool that I bought Medal of Honor and only knowing that having done so I only get it two days before anyone else? I’ll have to reconsider pre-ordering things next time for Beta access. The way the game was advertised made it sound like it was gonna be a closed Beta period if you don’t buy MOH! Oh well no biggie!
Battlefield 3 is so gonna pwn!
looking forward to playing it. i’m glad that the final game will have both Team Deathmatch and Squad Deathmatch. maybe this one will have music like the Battlefield Bad Company 2 Vietnam expansion. can you imagine going into battle online with Creedence Clearwater Revival’s Bad Moon Rising or Iron Maiden’s The Trooper or 2 Minutes to Midnight? that would be sick. i know it’s too late to add these songs to BF3 but maybe when Bad Company 3 or BF4 come out there may be room or enough memory for them on the next system see you guys online for both the beta and the actual game and good luck

YA MAN, THANK YOU SONY, THANK YOU DICE, YOU GUYS FREAKIN ROCK! btw for those who think xbox live dlc’s r cheaper your wrong, i bought rezurrection yesterday for 14.99 no tax and xbox pays 1200 point which cost $20 bucks :D hope that makes you feel better, dont be intimadated by microsoft because there the ones thats scared why to you think they get COD DLC’s a month before even pc and thats microsoft to lol
2 more things, 1. ill be on that beta on day one lol, and dont worry this is just the start, all the new games coming out, if bought on the ps3 u get exclusive and extra content, other then mw3, but personally cod is turning into another halo series, which to that all i have to say is, DUDE THAT GAME WAS GOOD YEARS AGO NOT NOW, screw cod and halo lol GO PLAYSTATION :D

I want to make a statement while everyone is still reading this. DO NOT COMPLAIN ABOUT HOW “THIS” WEAPON IS OVERPOWERED ONCE THE GAME CAME OUT. The snipers were pretty much broken on Bad Company 2 because of people complaining about one hit kills above the belt from a .50 cal rifle (that’s called “being realistic”).
Play the game the way DICE designed it. Too much input from the players can be a bad thing.
Best shooter of 2011: Resistance 3. …..um, so far.

Battlefield’s Multiplayer for PS3 NEEDS TO BE 32 players. I Understand that 64 is too large, but 32 can’t be that hard to add. BFBC2 was 12v12, so I’m sure with Frostbite 2, BF3 can handle a measly 8 more players…
COD: Modern Warfare 3…….. Thats all i have to say.

sorry if this is a dumb ?… but whats the diff between BF n COD? kinda thinkin about gettin this but dont know to much about the game. not really lookin foward to MW3 cuz word is its jus lookin like a big add-on to MW2 n i prefer black ops over MW2… n thats jus cuz i luv zombies! lol. really jus tired of FPS multiplayer games cuz of COD. its not fun any more. jus aggravating n frustrating.
COD sucks its to easy its for kids my granny can play that game and catch on to it easy. BF is way better shut even MAG is better than COD. I actually like MAG but BF is creeping up on it the only thing i like better about MAG is the communacation you have with your team.I think you guys should add the proxiy chat on BF on the RUSH and Conquest part because i would like to communicate with the blue guys.

I’m in CT, USA (GMT -5) and I never see a store update earlier than 8 pm. Someone shoulda told Sony this was an EARLY BETA !
LMAO!! Been married to my email for 2 months waiting for that email. Kept game, receipt and pre-order receipt! All i needed was for Blasphemous1 to leave a comment after me, and……BAM……… Email shows up!!
i got my email from EA for early access for BF3 but dont see it on the playstation store yet do i have to wait for the store to update?
I got the limited edition of MOH, Playstation says the early acces beta wont be up tell midnight tonight thanks playstation i lost 24 hours out of the 48 early access!
at lest you guys got an email, had the Medal Of Honor limited edition forever still no email make me said sony : (
I got the E-mail about 3 hours ago. 1pm EST.
It’s now 4:16pm EST and the BETA is still not up.
I have no Idea when the Store updates can any one shed light when it will in EST Time?

@ Brutalsublime – The e-mail won’t be from Sony, it’ll be from EA. Be sure to check your spam…. Especially with g-mail. Also, if you haven’t “allowed EA to contact you” via your EA account they, well, won’t. ;-)

I see the Battlefield 3 Beta but its say “this content is not available to download”, is 11:15 am, is the beta supposed to be downloaded for all in 29 September 2011? and still i can download it, i try every minute but its the same i can download it.
