It Begins: 3 Ways to Win a PS Vita Early Only From Taco Bell

PS Vita: Taco Bell $5 Buck Box

A few weeks back I shared the big news that you would soon have the chance to win your PlayStation Vita only at Taco Bell before it hits retail this February 22nd. Well, it’s official! Starting now through March 11th, PlayStation and Taco Bell are giving you three ways to win your PS Vita: Unlock the Box, Battle, and Boast. On average, one winner will be selected every 15 minutes through March, so there are a lot of chances to win! Here’s how:

Unlock the Box: Head to your local Taco Bell today to pick up a specially marked $5 Big Box – which includes a Cheesy Gordita Crunch, Crunchy Taco, Burrito Supreme and medium fountain drink. You’ll see a code printed on the top of the box; enter that code at unlock.tacobell.com for a chance to win your PS Vita!

PS Vita and Taco Bell: Reality Fighters Dojo

Battle: We worked with Taco Bell to develop an exclusive Augmented Reality game based on the upcoming PS Vita game Reality Fighters. You can play Reality Fighters Dojo by downloading Taco Bell’s new mobile app for your Android or iOS device. Then pick up your specially marked Taco Bell $5 Buck Box, start Reality Fighters Dojo, point your device’s camera at the top of the box and get ready to battle. Here’s a quick look at what you can expect as you battle for a chance to win a PS Vita:

Boast: This one’s easy! Create a photo or video boasting about what you’d do to nab a PS Vita and submit it here. Submissions are already pouring in, so head to unlock.tacobell.com and click on “Boast” for more details on what you need to do to participate and how to vote for your favorite boast.

Prize Packs will include one PS Vita 3G/Wi-Fi system, one copy of the PS Vita-exclusive Little Deviants, one 4GB PS Vita Memory Card and your choice of one of the following: ModNation Racers: Road Trip, MLB 12 The Show or LittleBigPlanet. PS Vita winners will begin receiving their devices after February 8th and your selected game choice will be shipped on its respective launch date.

For additional details, information, and rules head to unlock.tacobell.com.

Good luck! If you won a PS Vita before it hit stores, what game would you most want to play? Let us know in the comments!

  • i will try my luck , listen sony why dont you guys make promotions like some first party ps3 games , i mean you guys could do a ModNation Racers Road Trip coming with a access to Little Big Planet online multiplayer demo , or Unit 13 coming with access to Resistance burning Skies beta/ multiplayer demo , i mean that way you guys could get more people connected to psn on the vita and probably more sales to the games too

how about pre ordering vita games off psn ? and please add Head to Head online multiplayer racing to ModNation Racers and Motorstorm RC , i dont understand how the vita is packed with full psn integration and social functionalities and you guys are getting rid of online multiplayer from games that really need it to succeed

  • i mean i remember when my nephew , younger brother and me wanted to play Motorstorm Arctic Edge i had to call them over the phone and let them know when to try their luck to join my race online , yeap it was a pain because the game didnt support parties , messages , you could add friends you met over the game but you couldnt race with them because there wasnt a feature that allowed it and now that the vita has everything to make proper online multiplayer on the go and you guys are getting rid of it from certain games ? ironic , isnt it ?

  • Gotta find a new Taco Bell. The one a block from house closed.

  • My local Taco Bell isn’t doing this until Feb. 2nd. Guess they need more time to get the VITAS.

  • gonna try this as well.but the thing is that since my gallbladder surgery a couple of weeks ago my family is worried that the tacos wont “sit well” if you know what i mean?XD

but like i said, i’m gonna try to convince them that its gonna be alright eating them…

  • Nice offer, but I’ll spare my health and just pay the $250 for the Vita :P

  • Well way 1 of 3 is busted. I went down to Taco Bell ordered our boxes. We entered our code via text. We received a MSG that we can only enter once a day, but I have not entered into the contest at all. I called Taco Bell. The lady on the phone told me there are issues with the codes on the boxes and obviously someone has a bot spoofing all these codes and has already redeemed them. I was informed to do a write in but you can only do that once. So if you do right and support Taco Bell buy alot of their boxes you’re poop out of luck for any codes. Bait and switch. The lady on the phone would not replace the code. So don’t bother buying the boxes. Hackers and bots have already ruined it.

  • @6^. Pretty funny.

I’ve had 2 of these so far. A lot of food for $5 bucks. I’ll see how long my digestive system can take this.

  • I really hate Taco Bell food… why? Well, every time I’m done eating it I feel like I’m going to vomit.

    But…

All for a PlayStation Vita!!!! Get ready stomach… and paper bag.

  • What Vita Contests and promotions is SCEC doing? I’m asking you because they do a terrible job of getting the word out about them.

I don’t think anyone knows about the Vita Mall Tour for example.

  • Need me some Escape Plan

  • Cool promo

    Why no commercials

  • I had taco bell on the first day of the promo and got a box with a code for a chance to win. But then yesterday when I went to taco bell they did not have any more boxes that would give you a chance to win the Vita.

  • Guess I better start eating at Taco Bell again.

  • do we have to do all 3 thing to get in or just one?

  • I stopped by the drive-thru of a Taco Bell on the day this promo launched! The cashier hands me my bag and this cool ‘Long Live Play’ cup and I’m thinkin’, “Yeah! PlayStation! Awesome! Vita, here I come!” When I get home, I’m crushed upon realizing that the employees didn’t put my “5 Buck Box…” IN A BOX!

    *Golf clap*

Well played, Taco Bell. O, to live in a world where one doesn’t have to check his drive-thru bag each and every time they get fast food.

Next time, Taco Bell, I’ll be wearing my Kratos face!

  • OK! I already know that Puerto Rico is not part of this promotion… (As always) but that last part were u can do a video so u can win a vita…. AT LEAST…. Can Puerto Rico participate in that? pls answer :)

  • i know this cant be true why not just give it yo us..

  • People, stop complaining about unavailable regions and start being positive, until reality is no longer hurting you first(I’m surprised anyone won’t get this tip…). Gaming and fun aren’t associated with it until it disappears. It does even faster when hearts are more than prone to it.

Two wrongs don’t make a right, but that lesson also has to do with retaliation….

  • i have a Taco Bell at the back of my apartment building i eat Taco Bell mostly every day i see why not try winning a PSVita

  • aww, why can’t you guys make it burger king?!

  • Wow I’m a bit disappointed. I went to taco bell, got 2 boxes (1 for me and 1 for my brother) and I used mine and it said it had already been used! And my brothers was only 1 letter different than mine. And he used his on the phone through text and it said he had already entered a code! What a rip off. Food was good though.

  • Also, I platinum the Taco Bell game in about an hour… on the toilet… lol. Too bad its not a Vita/PS3 game!

  • Hurry up and moderate my post Sony, lol. I need those votes!

  • Did win but oh well, i was aiming for two PSVita sense i order one ready at gamestop.

  • didn’t win i mean lol.

  • A better choice would be Subway. They did an ok job with Uncharted 3 so I’m curious why they didn’t do Subway again with PSVita. Such an unhealthy way to promote a so-so new system.

  • Nah man I felt like Subway was ripping us off by trying to keep getting cups for impossible prizes. Here we just need the box one time and we can play that game everyday for an entry :)

  • 29Th!!!!! wooooooooooh!!!

@7 Ya that same thing happened to me, so you’re not the only one… Sad to see this is already ruined 2 days into the month long promotion…

  • So basically, I have to either buy Taco Bell’s crap or humiliate myself in a video someway in order to have a chance to win a PS Vita? No thanks. The app for iOS was the only reason I would even consider participating in it, and now it appears I still have to buy Taco Bell crap in order to make use of it. I’d rather just save my money & let the consumer market dictate whether or not the Vita is even worth investing in.

  • I want to try this, but if it got hacked and they’re using the codes no point. Sony do something about these hackers if they’re using the codes to win. Hope you hear us!!

  • Hahahahaha, yeah, someone help Mingster.

He’s actually buying Taco Bell and suffering the food, while these cheaters are skipping through all the intestinal distress and reaping the rewards!

  • i dont even eat at taco bell!!!!!!!!!!

  • Maybe I’m missing something here but if the Vita is launching in February and the winners of this are chosen in March…how is this getting the Vita early again?

  • Nice! Not available in Canada.
Sigh. Oh well, I have my Vita pre-ordered, but it would be nice to be able to participate in an awesome playstation related giveaway one of these days.
    Good Luck everyone.

  • This is going to be awesome!

@ #18 I wish they would. I’ve been a member of the PSN for a long time. They already send me special codes and other items. A Vita would be the best thing they could possible give me.

  • Grand Theft Auto

  • WipEout 2048

  • The local Bell here has none either. I ordered the “Playstation Box” specifically, was told “OK”, paid, got home, no PSV Box. Went back, and was told they didn’t have any yet. Then I was told to call the # on the receipt and I could get a code that way. Guy on phone told me my only option was a self addressed stamped envelope, and they couldnt do anything else for me despite the ads outside the restaurant, and being able to order it as the “Playstation Box”. Whole thing made the food taste even more mediocre than usual. It was disappointing to say the least.

  • I would honestly say wait til later this week to go get the boxes. I went today and everything was shoved in a bag, they claimed “we have no boxes”. Sony get on this and talk to taco bell already and get it situated, you see how many people having problems?

    GET IT TOGETHER SONY

  • I have not eaten taco bell in so long. today was the day I had to experience it again.
Alas, the code thing is true, we got home and entered the code and what do you know. “you have entered that code already. you can only enter code once a day.”
Can I get a response on how this issue is going to be resolved?
    Thank you,
    Participating consumer of your product.

    • Hello,

Please give a call to SCEA Customer Service at 1-800-345-7669. They are aware of the issue and will be able to provide you with an email address to receive a new code.

      Thanks!

  • Wow Sony really? I got 3 Boxes today ( one for me, my gf and brother) and all three codes were used. SERIOUSLY sony? Whats going on here?

    • Hi there,

Please give a call to SCEA Customer Service at 1-800-345-7669. They are aware of the issue and will be able to provide you with an email address to receive a new code.

      Thanks!

  • I’m not a big fan of Taco Bell, but I’ll definitely be going to my local Taco Bell just for a chance to win! BEYOND!

  • Day #4, and searching CAG, SlickDeals, Twitter and Facebook, I’ve only found one confirmed win.
CAG/SD are the people who know how to game the system, and put their codes in the wee hours of the morning, right when the timer hits 2:45 AM on the East Coast, and you mean to tell me ZERO of the thousands of people there won?
And the sole ‘winner’ was a guy posting on Taco Bell’s wall on Facebook.

I’m calling shenanigans. This is NOTHING like how other contests have gone. NOTHING.

  • Just got two boxes from the Bell; both codes are already registered apparently. This is fantastic. Is it the employees using them, or what? The codes are right on the front of the box after all…

    *rage*

    • Hey Dogtype,

Please give a call to SCEA Customer Service at 1-800-345-7669. They are aware of the issue and will be able to provide you with an email address to receive a new code.

      Thanks!

  • So far I’ve bought 5 of these boxes and no luck, im going to keep trying, because this is WAY to expensive for a hand held. I wish it was $200 for the Wi/Fi and %250 for 3G & Wi/Fi. Oh well.

  • @Dogtype You do know that if you go back there and tell them that, they’ll give you new ones.

  • So the ad. says “A winner every 15 min”, well that’s a load of BS. so far only 277 winners on the website, and there are like MILLIONS of people buying this box everyday, WOW.

  • If the promotion is at least SOMEWHAT accurate, than there should be at least 96 winners every day!
