PlayStation at E3 2012: Watch Live, Attend the Press Conference

Jeff Rubenstein's Avatar Posted by Sr. Social Media Manager

We’re less than a week away from E3 2012! This is what we’re feeling right about now.

SCEA PRESS CONFERENCE

First, I’m uber-hyped to share details about our ambitious livestreaming plan. Once again, we’ll be streaming E3 to you live, worldwide, over four jam-packed days. The live E3 broadcast begins this Monday, June 4th at 5:30pm Pacific/8:30pm Eastern with the PlayStation E3 2012 Press Conference, the most exciting (and most Tweeted-about) event on the PlayStation calendar. We’ll then continue the live broadcast through the rest of the week with live gameplay demos for hot upcoming PS3 and PS Vita games — 25 to 30 new game demos in all. We’ll even be snagging your questions from Twitter and posing them to the developers. Make ‘em count!

You’ll find the livestream here on PlayStation.Blog, as well as PlayStation Home, PlayStation.com, Facebook, Google Plus, and Ustream. And, for the first time, you’ll be able to watch E3 live directly on your PS3 — a handy icon will be located under the What’s New section on your XMB. PS Vita’s even getting in on the E3 action, with the new Nico Nico video app supporting a beta feed of our E3 livestream. Technology!

PlayStation Move: PixelJunk Lifelike

If you live in the Los Angeles area, though, we’ve got an even better offer. How would you like to attend the PlayStation E3 2012 Press Conference? I’m holding close to 200 seats at the LA Sports Arena for you — all you have to do is show up (and cheer). It won’t be hard. Deal? Here’s what you need to know.

You’re Invited: PlayStation E3 2012 Press Conference

Date: June 4th, 2012

Time: Get there no later than 3:30pm for check in. We can only admit 200 people max, and it’ll be first come, first served!

Location: Los Angeles Memorial Sports Arena
3939 South Figueroa Street
Los Angeles, CA 90037

Parking:
Self parking will be available for any guests who are driving their personal vehicles. Please enter Parking Lot 5 on MLK Boulevard at Hoover and when you arrive please tell the lot attendant that you are attending the Sony Press Event.

Restrictions: You must be at least 21 years old to attend. We will be checking IDs!

Look for this sign!

blog check in e3

Note that we’ll need you no later than 3:30pm, because you’ll be helping us out with our pre-show festivities. But worry not – we’ll have food and drink to keep you fat and happy.

The weather is looking perfect, the games will be awesome, and I hear we serve the best sliders in town. Hope to see you there!

The week before E3 is to nerds what Christmas Eve is to kids. The anticipation of all the goodies is too much for me to handle. I have a streaming schedule set by my computer, and I turn off my phone at work on Monday and Tuesday to watch press conferences. I hope Sony still has a surprise or two for us.

There needs to be an E3 coverage on the East Coast. I’m definitely not going to risk flying all the way over there and not nabbing a spot :(

I’ll be watching it on either my PS3 or Vita.

YES! I can’t even watch anything from this site live on my PS3 because of Ustream! You guys must do this from now on when you have E3 live streams and other live shows you put up!

We will have a PS3-compatible stream that you can access directly from the What’s New section of the XMB. So you’re covered!

Always enjoy the E3 live stream! And perhaps I’ll be able to make it out there on the 4th too this year!

Why is the conference so late compared to prior years? Oh well I still can’t wait! Sony better bring it and prove to everyone that they’re still focused on the gamers. I really wanna see Versus XIII and The Last Guardian but I highly doubt that’s gonna happen. Also, what about Agent? lol

1. Why do you have to be 21? You guys showing off Playstation Alcohol now?
2. There BETTER be a new ape escape announced.
3. PSone classics for vita better be announced.
4. PS4 BETTER NOT NOT NOT be announced.

OMG I wish I was on L.A. y really will love to go to that Press Conference T.T y will try to wash the Press Conference from my ps3 if not well the PS block will do it

Elvick_ said:

I’ll be the one to point it out. That message icon is way better than the lame one we have now… just saiyan… and imo obviously. I don’t even care what color it is, but the use of the iconic button symbols of PS is awesome.

I’ll give you a dollar if I can replace the one we have now with that one. :P

Looking forward to watching the conference, and hopefully I don’t sleep through/totally miss the rest of the live shows like I did last year. I managed to make the middle of one of ’em live, but it’s more exciting to see them live than to watch the recordings.

I’ll try it out on my Vita first, then if that doesn’t pan out I’ll just move on over to PS3, then fall back on the traditional PC method. :P

Tried to watch the 2011 Press Conference in HOME last year. Didn’t work so much (ended up watching on G4 or something).

Hopefully it’ll be smoother this year through the “whats new” portal.

Elvick_ said:

Oh and thanks for constantly adding more ways for us to watch the conference each year! I appreciate the options.

I really hope they got a lot of things planned for the Vita. As an owner im somewhat displeased by it. Content-wise its alright. The games need to get made which takes time, but one would assume during that time we’d get other things like Psp/Psn content, Apps. and while we have they havent been anything worthwhile.

I hope this E3 shows off a lot of Vita content. Games, Apps, Psn/Psp games planned to be released. all the good stuff.

The only thing im worried about is the fact we still have zero information on when Ps1 support. While Sony still uses the “Soon” card i would think everyone here (who owns a vita, and wants Ps1 content) can agree the whole “Soon” thing is over and done. we want actual information on if things are going well or not.

The way it looks as if they are keeping this release till E3 which i hope isnt true. While its something i really want, its not E3 worthy. that should only be for new games/content with which we have not heard about, or little about to make clearer. But i wouldnt be surprised if they did since Sony has been known to release old content at or around E3 because i guess to them its something Big.

I’ll be working all day… :(

anyways…. since u said the games will be awesome… I think sony/SE will finally give release date of FFvs13 with an awesome showcase of gameplay the finally the announcements of FF7 remake and KH3 EXCLUSIVELY TO THE PS3!

BAM!!!!!! Sony owned everyone.

apart of that…. gameplay of Last of US which im pretty sure it will happen. also show SOUL SACRIFICE for the PSV, FF type0 coming to the US for the Vita and FREAKING MONSTER HUNTER!

Gameplay of God of war ascension single player…. and PLS PLS surprise us with announcement we dont know…
I mean we all know by now that Smash station melee will come to the PSV… dont make it like a surprise… just when u announce it… say u will bundle both versions ps3 and vita for one low price. that will be good.

Good Luck Sony! give ur best on E3 and leave us breathless! if not ill be here bashing everything u did wrong!
