Soul Sacrifice E3 2012 Trailer Revealed

Hello PlayStation Blog readers! First, I wanted to thank everyone for reading my last post announcing Soul Sacrifice. We have received a lot of positive feedback from fans and I can’t wait to share more information about this game with you all!

As we all know, E3 starts today and I’m very excited! But if you couldn’t make it out to the Los Angeles Convention Center for the show, don’t worry!

Here is the brand new trailer the team has specifically created for E3.

Soul Sacrifice E3 2012 Trailer Revealed

If you did not see my last post and are wondering, “what is Soul Sacrifice?” then let me enlighten you! It’s a PS Vita game being produced by the legendary Keiji Inafune of Comcept and MarvelousAQL. Famed composers Yasunori Mitsuda and Wataru Hokoyama are also on board working on the music and soundtrack. The theme of this game is “reality blended experience.” Cruelty is a reality in our life, and we have to make sacrifices and pay costs on a daily basis. Inafune-san wanted to blend this “reality” theme into a fantasy world filled with magic, and create a new type of gaming experience that relied on the player making sacrifices in order to obtain great power. Another key feature of the game is the concept of “sacrifice.” In order to use sorcery during fierce battles, you must be willing to make a sacrifice – ranging from personal belongings to a limb, maybe even a life. If you simply think of this game as a “dark fantasy,” then your expectations will be betrayed – but in a good way.

Stay tuned to the Playstation Blog for more info about Soul Sacrifice!

  • Cannot wait for this game, it really looks stunning. Hoping it plays well and has sufficient content to support it (including future DLC content).

  • Prooooooo. Can’t Waittttt. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • OMG I can’t wait for this f’n game! OMFG! AHHHHHHH!!!!!! dfkjadhfkajfk;ladjfk;lasjf;klajf;klasdjf;lakjf;odljkl;j!!!!!!!!!! <====== excited

  • why this wasnt part of the press conference? i hope you guys announce more vita games today

  • Multiplayer would be great for this game, It kinda looks like monster hunter with a darker theme.

  • What happened to the Vita at the conference? CoD with no gameplay?

  • I was uninterested in the Vita before E3, I do not have money at the moment or I’d buy one or I would now.
When’s the AC III Vita bundle coming out? I should have money by then.

  • @4 I also do not understand how this was not a part of yesterday’s conference. I’d taken it for granted. The lack of Vita stuff was very noticeable and annoying. They confirmed (not revealed) PASBR, but wouldn’t even show a trailer. Plus, there’s no sight beyond this one, COD: BOD, AC3L, LBP, SS, SxT and Sly, and this list is pretty lackluster IMO.

I’m not talking about PSN games because they don’t excite anyone nearly as much as the big titles.

One would think that Sony would split evenly the time for the conference, but they did not. Vita consumers (and potential ones, notably) were left behind.

  • Awesome can’t wait! instead of wonderbook Sony needed to show more vita games. where is killzone vita?

  • Yay! Yet another awesome title for PS Vita :D

  • @8, Japanese support seems to be holding back their annoucements till TGS.

  • was that the necronomicon from Evil Dead I saw in that trailer?

  • Excellent looking title! I also believe this should have been part of the E3 conference. This is an experience that can only be found on the Vita. Hopefully, Sony’s marketing dept. will get behind this fantastic game going forward. Plus, it’s being made by the man behind Mega-Man and Onimusha.

  • I love everything about this game. I’d say this is the reason I bought a Vita, had I known about it before I bought a Vita :)

  • Yeah, why not show this instead of 20m of Wonderbook I’ll never know. You guys need to have a Vita side presentation or something, because consumers are getting restless and annoyed with the lack of communication over the devices and its library.

P.S. Will this video be up on the store later?

  • Why the hell was this not showed at the show?

  • Looks freaking awesome. Can’t wait.

Why wasn’t this at the press conference? >_<

  • Will this game have several difficulty levels?

  • Ahh! Stop the trailer!!!! Release the game!!!!

  • Why this wasn’t shown at the press conference one may never know.

  • Cant wait to TGS comes around for more!

  • only psVita?

make a version for ps3 …… it seems to be a great game

  • The art design is just incredible… I hope that we get some kind of Limited Edition with an artbook and soundtrack. Oh how I would love that…

  • WHY SONY!!!!! you should of shown this beast of a game instead of that crap wonderbook. NO ONE I KNOW THAT WATCHED THAT WANTED ONE. I am a huge sony fan, but come one, you dropped the ball on this one BIG TIME! And you wonder why psvita sales are down (i own one and the games that are coming out look amazing, but you didnt even show them on E3,) no dedication for the vita.

  • lke the game but Vita is getting little love come on Sony. give us some more games. people are buying the rival 3DS a lot more than Vita. make sure GTA V comes to Vita and get Infamous and a Fallout. this would make a lot of people happy and draw in tons more of people. a price drop of a least $30 would help sales to.
My Vita is being mostly used for Netflix.

  • @24: Really? … dat irony…

  • @11 That was my first thought when it came out!

I love the way those giant boss looking creatures, especially the one wrapped in chains :D

  • Sony, Why you didn’t show this at the conference? Jesus tap-dancing Christ, day one.

  • excited on this game :D

  • Hikaru_Kazushime

Looks good! Happy to see a good looking game on the North American Vita!

  • I know this is from Inafune, but I still find it funny that the logo for the game has a narrator/announcer read it out ala resident evil style lol.
