Will these finally add a create-a-race feature to 2048?

Because I would absolutely love that…

I don’t understand…. I have WipeOut HD and Fury on my PS3, so can I download WipeOut 2048 on my Vita for free??? Or is it the DLC which is free???

Hiya guitarded77. The Vita dlc equivalent is free if you have the PS3 version of that DLC. So since you mentioned you have Wipeout HD and the Fury add-on on PS3, you can download both WipEout 2048 dlc packs for free. Hope that helps clear it up. :)

@guitarded77
I believe they only mean the DLC will be free so if you don’t have Wipeout 2048 you can go buy it and get HD/Fury DLC for free. This is a great deal, I got the PS3 versions when I got Wipeout 2048 upon launch but I haven’t got back to it as most of my gaming as been in Vita lately but now with this DLC I can actually play those courses on the road for FREE! Thank you much Sony! =)

Chill, and read the last 2 paragraphs again. If you own 2048 on Vita and HD on PS3, then the DLC is free.

ok i don’t understand i own all 3 games so i don’t need to buy the DLC because i can get Wipeout HD and Fury free on my vita? i love the DLC support but one thing i dont like is that you divide the community, i thought this DLC was supposed to be free and San Diego Studios take note this is a racing game with head to head online multiplayer and cross platform play and now DLC and you guys haven’t even released an online multiplayer patch, shame on you.

snakeeyes211 said:

June 19th, 8:36 am

So if I own wipeout HD and the Fury add-on. I get the Vita versions of it for free ?

    Ami Nakajima's Avatar

    Michael Pulst said:

    June 19th, 11:56 am

Correct! You will be able to download the WipEout 2048 dlc for free because you own Wipeout HD and Fury on the PS3. The DLC will be available when the store updates later today. Have fun!

remanutd5 said:

at 13 thats what i want to know too , i own all 3 games.

remanutd5 said:

oh and i know this is off topic but Nihilistic needs to release 3 more FREE maps , an online co op mode and fix some online multiplayer issues on resistance burning skies and san diego studios well you already know what we want lol

So excited for this! How much space does the DLC take up on the Vita? I only have an 8GB card and this seems like a lot of (awesome) content.

Also, if I have WipeOut on a game card, does the DLC get stored there or on the memory card? I have always been confused about that.

    Ami Nakajima's Avatar

    Michael Pulst said:

    June 19th, 11:59 am

Howdy Wilbur. When you download the DLC it will be stored on your removable media card. It will be a bit under 600MB for both dlc packs.

This is great and all but I would have liked to have seen cross trophy support then so I cud earn trophies for systems. Why redo all the SUPER HARD WORK getting trophies in WipEout HD?

    Ami Nakajima said:

The trophies are slightly different to the ones in the original games. Check them out :)

According to Ami, the file sizes are as follows:

“The WipEout HD Game Pack is 297MB. WipEout HD Fury Game Pack is 265MB and the WipEout Complete Game Pack should be around 562MB”

Man, people! How much clearer can “For those of you who already own WipEout HD or WipEout HD Fury on your PS3, you can automatically download the PS Vita versions for free!” be!?! Yes, they are free if you own them! And if you’re someone that DOES need to buy the packs (which are only $12.99 if you don’t own the games already on PS3) you can then download them on PS3 as well.

Elvick_ said:

June 19th, 10:43 am

@29: You have to wait for the store to be updated.

And no people, you don’t get Wipeout 2048 free. smh, you’ll just get the DLC packs for HD/Fury on Vita (for 2048) free if you already own them on the PS3.

It’s not hard to understand.

JazzSaxPlayer said:

thunderbear said:

June 19th, 10:59 am

That’s a fantastic deal. I owe HD and HD Fury on the PS3 and now I am considering getting Wipeout 2048 because of the extra content. Awesome! @13: Being ignorant makes you look bad!

ol-0-lo said:

June 19th, 11:00 am

Why not release the WipEout 2048 tracks for WipEout HD? There didn’t seem to be a lot of players on WipEout HD when I was looking for a multiplayer session a while ago, and the ability to play new tracks would probably bring a lot of players back to the game along with the crossplay functionality.

Old_PopTarts said:

June 19th, 11:01 am

@31 Yeah I figured just as much. Was just hoping it would have already ha

One thing I noticed is I had DL Command and Conquer for the PSP/PS3 but it doesn’t show up in my DL list at ALL. Rather odd. I would have loved to have gotten that on the Vita.

USCCM said:

June 19th, 11:06 am

Another “launch promise” delivered by Sony. It’s a bit late IMHO but still… bravo!

Crossplay on Wipeout finally!!!

Now about that Vita’s ability to play PSOne classics…

PlatinumAura said:

June 19th, 11:33 am

Throwing it out there I’m now downloading it for free for the Vita (I own the PSN bundle of Fury and the game). I don’t even own 2048 yet!!!…but I will in the coming weeks!!! awesome deal hope to see more like in the future!!

DarthDanMan said:

June 19th, 11:41 am

@Old_PopTarts
What type of game is Command and Conquer? PS1 or PSP?

SirTrigalot said:

June 19th, 11:44 am

Please fix the EULA issue with Wipeout HD. I can’t even play online let alone cross-play if I can’t join a lobby at all.

Chrystolis said:

June 19th, 11:52 am

Glad to hear the packs are free if you already own the PS3 versions! More game content need to function this way between the PS3 and Vita!!

tiredminds said:

June 19th, 11:56 am

So will we be also getting an update for the Wipeout HD+Fury (ps3) to play the Wipeout 2048 tracks on the ps3 as well for complete cross play compatibility?

Hiya pa101902, this promotion for WipEout 2048 is not for a limited time. You can download the 2048 DLC now or later for free, as long as you own Wipeout HD and the Fury Add-On for PS3.

WipEout 2048 is exclusive to PlayStation Vita only, unfortunately

dreadedpotato said:

Let me get this straight. WipEout 2048 owners get WipEout HD+Furyfree on PS3 if they buy the DLC version for 2048….but WipEout HD+Fury owners have to own 2048 already to use the Vita versions of HD+Fury? Wow. Just wow.

Heavenly_king said:

June 19th, 1:05 pm

I think all this “thing” of re-downloading your game on a different platform would be avoided if remote play was universal for every PS3 game. I know that in this case is free, but that is not the case with other games

At least you should promote in the game developers community that every PS3 game comes with a digital copy of the same game for the PSVITA. And we would be able to use it only if we register the game, ps3 and PSVITA consoles on-line in order to avoid spreading the game to more than one PSVITA. So if the PSVITA-PS3-GAME combo is not registered then people should buy the PSVITA version from the store if the want to play it.

Before the release of the PSVITA, a lot of developers showed how easy is to port content from the PS3 to the PSVITA, so I dont think that there would be much money of the developer involved to allow this feature. The BD holds lots of information, so it can easily have both copies of the game.

If this combo costs the same as $60 like your regular price for a PS3 game, the PS3 and PSVITA will sell out everywhere!!! I know that maybe some developers would be hesitant to do this, but in the end they will sell lots of copies because of the versatility they offer.

Me sad :(

I purchased 2048 through PSN, which included the online pass. I even redownloaded a copy of my online pass and reinstalled it. Yet when I go into the PSN store, there is no purchase or download button for either DLC, although I can see the content in the store.
